The Henry T. Oxnard Historic District is a 70-acre neighborhood that became a part of the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. Covering F and G streets, between Palm and 5th streets, in the downtown area of Oxnard, California, the district includes 140 contributing buildings with homes mostly built before 1925. It includes Mission/Spanish Revival, Bungalow/craftsman, Colonial Revival, and other architecture. It includes five Prairie School and eight Tudor Revival homes.
*Note that while there are 142 homes in the district, only two are Ventura County Landmarks on their own: The Charles Murphy House at Second and F and the Henry Levy House at Second and G. While many of the homes have a historic landmark placard in front, all of the rest share the same Landmark number of #161 which is for the Henry T. Oxnard Historic District as a whole.
Note, too, that the information contained in the original documents presented to create the historic district appear to be wrong in many instances….I’ve made notes on the errors I’ve found HERE. Also, I’ve included some information from the Ventura County Assessor, but that, too, appears to be wrong in almost every instance.
The district consists of the houses built in two sub-divisions: the Henry T. Oxnard tract on F Street and the Walter H. Lathrop tract on G Street, which were built during 1909-1941.

The district was developed in part by a number of Jewish immigrants from Alsace, France, whose families built businesses in Hueneme and Oxnard. From Wikipedia
The Houses
Note that when looking at the information on each house page, many of the dates may overlap. It appears that a lot of the houses in the historic district were used as rentals, so a listing may show an owner over a period of 2 decades, with other people living at the address in intervening years as renters.
